The first heat for the ex-Captain'ff silver cup came off on Thursdayjvening between T. Nye 10 sees and P. Curtis 25secs., and resulted in ato for Nye by two lengths after a good face, the water being perfect for rowing. C. Symons rowed a bye, his opponent Blake having scratched owing to an accident. The other heats will be rowed on Monday and Tuesday next, weather permitting.
