Mother lary Joseph .MJ3UET, THI NEW ZEALAND 'EGETATIST. RF£i REMEDIES ABE THE VEEY BEST. INFLUENZA, It will have been noticed by all readers of the newspapers during the past few days that the epidemic, commcnly known as Influenza, is raging with direful effects in Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne, and that many deaths have already occurred. - There can therefore be no doubt that we shall have this scourge amongst ourselves 'within a very short time, and as all persons in every station of {life are liable to be attacked, it would be wise on the part of everyone to talse all necessary precautions in preventing themselves catching this most troublesome complaint. The authorities in England and on the Continent some time since issued instructions that preventative remedies were to be given daily to the military and to the police, and it was reported that this had very good effect. Now we all know that prevention is better than cure, and to this end the proprietor of MOTHER MAEY | JOSEPH AUBERT'S REMEDIES has every confidence in recommending the public to try •• MARUPA." It is a vegetable remedy, and from past experience has proved itself invaluable in giving relief to those suffering from severe headaches, harshness in the Bronchial Tube, running at the nose, pains in the back and loins, aud the other particular forms in which INFLUENZA attacks the system of differeut perJ sons. The public is asked to give it a fair trial, and from the evidence of I Archbishop Eedwood we are sure every one ought to have faith in the wonderful power which these valu- | able vegetable medicines have in counteracting the various attacks made In the human system. Mother lary Joseph Aubert's St. Mary's Cathedral, Wellington, August 2, 1890. REV MOTHER MARY JOSEPH AUBEKT, of Jerusalem, Wanganui I River, having applied for permission to dispose of the right of putting up her medicines for sale to Messrs Kemptborne, Prosser & Co., I hereby willingly crant such permission in the hope that such vegetable medicinosmay become more publicly known, and assist the good cause in which the Rev. Mother works. From many facts that have come under i my own notice, I can testify to the 1 beneficial effects of these several medicines upon the porsons who have used them. (Signed) FRANCIS REDWOOD, Archbishop of Wellington. INFLUENZA TRY < MARUPA.' This is "the" Remedy that gives instant relief, and if taken in time saves great expense. EE.\D WHAT "THE NEW ZEALAND TABLET " SAYS : *' The religious orders continue to maintain their reputation as benpfactors of Society in temporal as well as in spiritual matter 3. A new proof of this is furnished iv the remedies which have been discovered by the Sister Mary Joseph Anbert of the Order of Notre Dame den Missions. The good Sister, whoso life has been devoted to the instruction ot the Maoris, whi'e she hns laboured successfully at improving their mind a and enlightening their spirits, lias not bo?n npglectfnl of their bodies. The result is the discovery of a series of medicines manufactmed from native trees and plants and which have been proved undeniably to be of almost tnarvel'rus efficacy. It is to the credit of the Oatho'ic Church in the colony that one of its missionary Bisters bus inguished ln-rself in this way, probably conferring on the world a benefit lit tip, if anything, inferior to that conferred, for example, by the Jesuit Fathers who discovered the curative properties of the Peruvian bark. Not only suffering' humanity, but science itse'f owes a debt to this lady, who has marie it acquainted with properties of natural products, hitherto unsuspected, and hns enriched the .pharmacopoeia. "We have, further, in the matter an instance of how reHginus devotion is calculated to quicken the faculties aod to develop the best qualities of -human natnre. sister Mary Joseph is to be warmly commended for her discoveries, and, indeed.|^tbe community ? generally may he congratulated on them."
