Borough Council.
-- ♦ A spp.oial meeting of the Foxton r Borough Council was held on Saturday at 2 80 pan. Present— 'he Mayior (T. Wilson), CrsNye, Austin anPx Williams. A letter and telegram was read from the Manawatu County Council asking the Council to take action re name and boundaries of electorate. The Mayor mentioned that he had sent a telegram to the Representation Uommissioners. The Clerk stated he had received a telegram from the clerk of the Commissioners who mentioned the telegram from the Mayor had arrived too late, and that Commissioners had reported to the Governor and closed their sittings. A letter from the Manawatu County Council 1 c the Horowhenua claim was read, in which it was asked that the Borough Council would agree to the action of the Oohnty, and to ask the Borough to allow the County to deal with the same as they proposed. Proposed by Cr Williams, seconded by. Cr Austin, That this Council agrees to leave in the hands of the Manawatu " County Council the settlement of ihe dispute with the Horqwhenua Counoil and undertake to pay on© sixth of the amount paid by fchOtn^Onrried.
