We regret to learn says the Times that Mr J. H. Hanking racehorse, Endymion, broke down while doing a gallop on the training track yesterday. Endymion had been doing •excellent work up to the time of the Ka&taip. A committee meeting of the Manawatu Racing Club Avas held at the Club Hotel last evening says the Standard. It was decided to keep the lawn, saddling paddock and gates this year, the only privileges to be sold being the publicans' booths and cards. Dr Dermer is expected here sometime towards the latter end of next week. Captain Edwin telegraphs to-day north to west and south-west gale with rain and. heavy sea nftev sixteen houva (from noon to-day). From now glass fall soon.
