Seventh— The deaths among lives assured were 649 under 735 policies, causing claims upon the Society amounting to £299,602, irrespective of Bonus additions, while the number expected , according to the Tables used in estimating the liabilities would have been X143, for an amount of £438,---97©, the mortality experience being thus extremely favourable. Eighth— The receipts from interest and rents were £516,832, an amount exceeding the sum paid for the claims br £138,982. Ninth — The expenseß of Management were j only 9.S per cent, of the total receipts. Tkxth— The cash surplus divided for the , year 188!) was £426,494, being at the rate of 41.5 per cent, on the premiums received. The operations of the Society during the 41 years of its existence may be summarised as under— Ii lias issued 141,907 policies, assuring £49,417,717.
