Death of Mr Toxward.

The N-,-2, Times reports the sudden death of Mr Christian Julius Toxward, architect and Danish Consul, which accurred a little before 9 •o'clock on Wednesday night. Mr Toxward was found lying on the pavement in Sydney- street, where he toad fallen down immediately after leaving Mr Luckie's house, where he "had been visiting. While talking with the family Mr ToxMtx. £rew a little flushed in. the fAse, and asked for a glass of Water, on obtaining which he said good night, saying he would go home, and left accordingly, he had not proceeded many yards "when be had fallen down on the pavement, and was found there by a constable and carried to his own residence, which is only a short distance from Mr Luckie's. Drs Henry and Martin were telephoned for, but on the arrival of the former it was fonnd that life was extinct. Death, ura understand, is attributed to heart disease, from which the lat6 gentleman had stated to some of his friends that he had .suffered. Great regret will be experienced by a large circle who knew and respected the astute abilities and manly character of Mr Toxward, and profound synv pathy will be accorded to his bereaved family (two sons and two daughters), who lost their mother by death only about two months ago. Mr Toxward was a Dane, a native of Copenhagen. After visiting Australia, and being concerned in gold mining affairs in Ballarat, he came to the colony about thirty years ago, and was about that time connected with the Provincial Government of Southland . He had been many years in Welling* ton, where his accomplishments as an architect, and his sterling quail* ties as a man, procured him many warm friends. He occupied the position of Danish Consul for several years, and was for many years in the Commission of the Peace.
