The attention of the Members and the General Tublic is called to some of the special features connected with the Society, which i* the oldest Colonial Institution of its hind, having been established in the « year 1849. \ The results of the business for the Fortyfirst Year, ending 31st December, 1889, may be summarised as under : — Fikst— The number of the New Policies issued was 11,664. Second — The new Assurance business effected was for £3,679,458. Tmr.v — 1 he New Annual Premium Income amounted to £121,800. Foukth — The net increase to the business, after allowing for loss of income from terminated Policies, was represented by 7028 Policies, assuring £22,---109,199 Fifth — The operations of the year raised the annual income of the Society from £1,512,280 to £1,625,- --! 185, an increase in twelve months ; of £112,905. !
