Foxton Dramatic Club.

The first annual meeting of the Foxton Dramatic Club was held last night at Stansell's hotel, when nearly all the members of the club were present, Mr J. R. McMillan was voted to the chair. The report and balance sheet presented by the committee, was very encouraging showing that during the past year the entertainments given by the club were in every instance very successful and that the parties for whom they were given derived substantial benefit from them. The club has a balance in hand of £$ 19s. The following ladies were elected : Mesdames P. Curtis and W. Cook ; Misses Stansell, Burr, H. Burr, and Prendergast. Mr J. R. Russell and W. Little were also elected. The election of office bearers resulted as follows : — President J. G. Wilson, Esq., M.H.R; VicePresidents, Messrs E. S.Thynneand J. R. Stansell; Secretary Mr rt, Fraser ; Treasurer, Mr G. Potter ; Committee, Messrs J. R. McMillan, J. R. Stansell, P. Curtis, J. Whyte, and W. Little ; Cast Committee, Messrs J. R. Russell, W. Little and P. Curtis ; Stage Manager, Mr H. Woodham ; Property Manager, Mr G. Potter. It was decided to produce " Snowed In" at Sandon on September 15th for the benefit of the Sandon Public Hall Company, and also to put into active rehearsal an entertainment to be produced in Foxton, at an early date, for the benefit of the Club's wardrobe fund. After making a few alterations in the rules, the meeting closed with the usual vote of thanks to the chair.
