Found Drowned.

*. i THE MISSING SURVEYOB, MR A. DUNDAS. The body of the late Mr Alexander Dnndas, surveyor, of Palmerston North, was found on the boach in Oriental Bay yesterday morning. The deceased caino into town about four weeks ago in connection with the Supreme Court case, Manawatu Eoad Board v. Wellington and Manawatn Bailway Company, and was supposed to have left a week later, and his disappearance has caused considerable anxiety amongst his friends ever since, as no trace of him could be heai'd of. Yesterday, however, all doubts were set at rest, as the body was found by Mrs E. Brattle, of Lome street, about noon. The body was in a terrible state, all the flesh being off the face, and the greater part being off his hands. It was dressed in grey clothes with a top coat, and had evidently been washed ashore with the north west wind. Information having been given to the police, Constable Mad' den had the body removed to the Morgue, where it was searched. The

Constablefound an envelope addresed " A. Dundas, Esq, Club Hotel Wei* lington," 2s 6d and two coppers in money, a piece of candle, handkerchief, pipe and a bottle "of wbkky. Up to the present nothing is k^^ as to how the unfortunate gentleman got in the water, but it is Surmised he toll in close to town somewhere, and the body has been since floating * about, and the northerly wind of yesterday set it into the place where it was discovered. An jn^uest will be held at the morgue at 9 o'clock this morning by the District Coroner, , N. Z Times.
