Snowed In.
On Tuesday evening the Foxton Dramatic Club will produce the three act Comedy of " Snowed* In,-' and by the courtesy of the management we are enabled to lay a sketch of the plot before our readers'. '. j " ; : A party of ladies and gentlemen consisting of Mr Fleming and. his : daughter, and Mr Donald ; Osbbrne and fcis - mother, are travelling by* •train -'to the 1 <{ Warrens "to > spend 'Christmas. The train gets snowed in at a small village at the>fobt;of theiGreylock mountains, and as the only, hotel in the place is. not large enough to accommodate the /passengers, Mr Fleming and party are left put in the cold: It suddenly occiirs to Mfs Osborne' that she, many years ago had known'a certain Mrs Riosernerry, a widow who had sett'ed, in those parts. She found the identical Mrsßosemerry (Miss H. BnrA), who insisted on •their coming to stay with' her until such time as the train proceededon its joucney.: Qnihesamq day, Mrs Rosemerry's maid of alj work left, and to make matters worse; Mrs Osborne, oh' her arrival at Mrs Rpspmerry's, : hquse, has <an acute attack of rheumatism, and has to take to'her bed. All the housework has to be done by Mrs Rosemerry and her niece Kitty (Miss Burr), assisted[by. Joe (&.R, Young), a halfwitted lad who has just tfeft the poor; house. "The kitchen. V being the warmest ; place, is used as. a sittingroom. "~ ' . ' Shortly after, another train is? flocked, and Donald Osborne ; ,(£..; Fraser) discovers. an qld friepdi;[Max ; Seymour (J, B« .McMillan), and takes him to Mrs Ro'sevnerry's residence j and -he is welcomed, ;by tihe . widow arid invited to stay, ■ ,■ j Donald .Qsborne is,, engaged, to Ethel j*leinjyng, (Miss^Stansell), who .ijhinks she doesn't care for him. ;He asjts the advice p££is. ;frjend. M^x &eynioiir, #nd,is.'tpld thp! b^s^ thpag he . can . dp is, ; to. flirt, with someone else, and '\ if ,-his fiancee loves him she will be jealous." Donald aqpordingly commences to flirt with ,&itj;y, Rpsameiry, and -after a few 'days discovers he has fallen, in love with her.
