Suicide Near Sandon.
•» • — ■■ . Apparently a case of determined suicide took place near Sandon yesterday. A young man named Wil- ' Ham Scarrow, not arriving home at his usual time, his father went in search of him about 4 o'clock in the afternoon and became very much alarmed at finding his son's hat and watch lying near a dam, situated about 800 yards from their residence. Constable Coyle was then sent tor, who, with the aid ■of a number of settlers dragged tho pond, ,an,d snot ftt once finding anything, drained it, when the deceased was seen where there had been 12ft, of water 'with his body doubled in' a stobpirig position by ropes which were, r tied from his neck to his legs. The dece£s£d was 82 years of age,' unmarried, , and was residing with his parents' oii the road known as the. Cemetery line, about two and a half miles Mm Sandon. He was a very .enthusiastic member of the Brethren. '.. i_attaiiy he has complained of . noises and pains in his head. The inquest will be held today when probably more particulars will be obtained!— Advocate.
