'■♦ A meeting of the provisional directors was held in Wellington on Wednesday last, Mr Gardner in the chair. Mr Macdonald, sharebroker for the Association made a report of his visit to the Wairarapa and elsewhere, and of the appointment of sub brokers throughout the district, . and of the prospects of the successful floating of the Association. The directors considered the report satisfactory and thanked Mr Macdonald. Mr Macdonald explained that his Parliamentary duties would not permit him to give the Association that attention he would like and .begged to be relieved of the office of share broker. This was agreed to. and the directors will cavry out tha arrangements made by .Ur Macdonald. Notice of motion was given by Mr Whitcome and seconded by Mr Phillips that the Association be registered at once. This will be decided upon at next meeting. It was agreed that the Colonial Bank be arranged with for opening an account on behalf of the Associaton. Several of the directors and the Secretary had a meeting with the Hon Mr Bryce and Mr D. Cameron the leading gentlemen in connection .with the West Coast Association with a uew to endeavour to arrange for an amalgamation of these associations. The necessity for one association only was admitted by all. Another meeting is arranged for to carry out this desire and a united society established. Mr Macdonald, Mr Phillips and othera were to address a meeting at Masterton on Monday.
