Parliamentary Notes.
Messrs Hogg and Wilson, M.HJfc's introduced to the Minister of L'sids says the Post a deputation-consisti-ng of Messrs Bolton, Whitcombe Vile (members of the Pahiatua County Council) and two representatives of the Fitzherbert Boad Board, who had an application to make in reference to tie Manawatu Gorge road.- • An important communication from the bondholders ot the New Plymouth Harbour Board has reached the Government. Its general tenor is that the bondholders will accept 4 per cent interest on the loan instead of 6 per cent, provided the Government will guarantee the payment of interest. The Government propose to lay the document on the table of the House.
The late Minister for Lands (Hon G. F. Richardson) calls for a return showing the thousands of pounds which his successor stated at Palmerston South were spent by Stock Inspectors without control from headquarters, as well as the names of the Inspectors alleged to charge for the use of their own houses, and those who charge for the hire of their own horses.
No appointment of Chairman of Committees has yet heen made. It is rumoured that Mr W. C. Smith is to be the first new Legislative Councillor that is made instead of Chairman.
