The Queen has accepted a hamper of New Zealand frozen game. An address has been signed by 10,000 residents in the Forest of Dean constituency, congratulating Sir C. Dilke on his determination to re-enter public life. French warships are vigourously enforcing treaty rights in Newfoundland. It is reported that the syndicate who took up the balance of the Queensland loan were allowed a discount of £50,000, which practically reduces the average price below 88. Fever is raging among the crews of the Mediterranean fleet. Some 200 men are prostrate. The Liberal leaders look on Sir C. Dilke's return. to public life with disfavour.
