Cumming's unfair play. The Trades Council support the action of the omnibus men in striking for 12 hours per day. The directors of the Omnibus Companies are firm, and 2000 'buses are idle. The omnibus traffic is virtually suspended. A, few road cars started yesterday morning, but returned to the stables at midday. Despite *the efforts of the police •the traces of several of the 'busses, which were running, were cut, the windows smashed, and the drivers forced to return with their vehicles to the stables. Two of tbe 'busses were rushed by the crowd and overturned. Several of the strikers have been arrested for intimidation. Mr Burns was among the number, but he was subsequently released. Owing to the horse keepers having been called out ten thousand horses are threatened with starvation. , The Irish Land Purchase Bill has been t under further consideration, and. a new clause adopted, giving tenants' evicted five years before the passing of the Act the right to pur-chase-their former, holdings within six months of the measure becoming law. Mr Balfour intends tq propose on Thursday that the operation of the Crimes Act be suspended in Ireland.
