Barometric Disturbance.
« On Tuesday, Mr C. S. Wrapge, the Queensland Government Meteorologist, has specially warned the shipping that a barometric disturbance is about to be experienced, ap- , proximately in latitude 86 south, , longitude 158 east, passing over the Pacific in a north-easterly course, ' probably between Norfolk Island and the North Island of New Zealand. In connection with tho ahove we would point ont that in June, 1889, the lowest reading of the barometer for years past was registered, viz., 28.66. To-day the barometer is at 29.30 and still falling. Our local postmaster reminds us that the glass falls with a northerly wind and yet the weather keeps five, and the glass will rise with a southerley wind and it will rain.
