" I want to see what sort of soup you get," said the genernl, as he dived into the boiler with the spoon. ' VVhnt sort of devil's broth is that? It tastes like dishwater. What is it anyhow ?" " That's just what it is, your excellency," replied the soldier. "It's the water the dishes were washed in."
