Mr Cawston announces that tor the convenience of visitors, he will, on Saturday have dinner at 11 a.m., thus giving time to go to the races afterwards. At the review at Palmerston on Monday an amusing scene occurred. A mem' er of the Devil's brigade attended on horseback and interfered so much with the evolutions of the cavalry, that the commanding officer told off two of the infantry to dear the ground. The two politely requested the rider to leave, he objected, and they managed, whilst discussing, to edge him near the gate. The rider got vexed and ingi«ted npon returning, but the infantry re* fisted, and aaid that they must obey orders. They then fixed bayonets, and held them at the charge, leaving only the gate tree. The rider turned his horse round, and foolishly backed it upon one of the bayonets, which created a not surprising restiveness in the steed. The rider therefore faced the enemy and endeavoured to force his horse to jump the obstruction. The horse believed in the better part of valor and permitted himself and rider to be edged outside of the gate, which waa then dosed. The crowd who had been amused spectators of the scene raised a cheer for the viotory of foot against horse. It seems a pity tggjti/ich steps were necessary.
