The Societe Depots Comptes Courants is stated to be in difficulties, owing to the financial crisis in the Argentine Republic. M. Rouvier, Minister of Finance, has requested the Bank of France to advance sixty million franca pending a joint guarantee froni the various banks. The Societe Depots will enter into liquidation after the paytnent of depositor's claims. The Wood Paving Company in this city has suspended payment. The liabilities amount to about 8,d00,606 francs. It is rumoured that the security of General Von Caprivi's position as Chancellor has been shaken during the past few weeks, apd an impression is gaining ground that he will be succeeded by General Waldersee, who is at present in command of the army ddrps:
