Sale of a Newspaper. The New York World, which has the largest circulation of any New York paper, has, it is said, been sold to a syndicate, the principal members of which are George W. Childs, of the Philadelphia Ledger, and the executors of the late Joseph W. Drexel the wealthy New York banker. The price said to have been paid was £800,000. The circulation of the World is about 300,000.
