Foxton Racing Club.

Owners of likely looking hacks will notice that the Honorary Secretary of the Foxton Racing Club notifies that nominations for the hack races for the Summer Meeting close on Saturday evening. Last year the number of hacks brought out was wonderful, and many have, since their debut, proved valuable horses. The owner of a good horse has, at these meetings, an admirable opportunity of testing his favourite's pace against a large and representative field, at a very small cost, with the chance of his animal proving to be very much better than he expected. We could mention many local horses, now well known on the turf, that were tested at this Clud's meeting, but space will only allow us to mention Roulette, Slave Girl, The Dream, and Brian Wyn. The advantage of the Foxton course is apparent to every racing man, the ground being springy, and covered with good turf. Many a race has been collared by horses too stiff for the usual hard courses, on this Club's o^e, thus proving no sound animal oan run the ohance of being shook by an exoiting gallop. The Club is making every effort for an enjoyable meeting so that good entries toy hack* it what we

should like to see, as they offer, to our mind as pretty sport as those races in which the "cracks "are entered for.
