London. The Irish Land Purchase Bill has passed through Committee, and the third reading is fixed for Monday. A number of dockers are deserting the Union. The Hon. A. W. Peel intends to lesign the Speakership of the House of Commons. Cardinal Manning has endorsed the jndment of the Irish Bishops on Mr Paruell's conduct. Mr Parnell retains control of the Parliamentary fund, which amounts to -620,000, and proceeds to Ireland to organise the National party. ' Those who seceded from Mr Parnell propose to estab ish a daily paper in Ireland, and continue the payment of members of the Irish Parliamentary party. Messrs O'Brien and Dillon approve of Mr Justin McCarthy's appointment to the leadership, and urge that the unity of the party be restored. It is reported they intend returning to Eug'and. The Times, referring to Saturday's meeting of the Irish party, states that the disseutions and violence exhibited has fully justified the most sinister predictions of an Irish Legis lature The press considers that as the Irish party has ceased to represent a majority of the people, the conflict will n i\v be removed to Ireland. Parliament adjourned on the 9th until 2:2 nd January. The Daily News states that Sir Henry James, Q.C., M.P., who was one of the leading counsel for The Times in the Parnell Commission, has been created a life peer and Judge of the Appeal Court. The wool market is steady, with an improvement in prices. The secoders from the Parnell party hav t > subsribed £1000 to assist the Irish members whose salaries are stopped.
