An Opposition Yarn.
« " Everything is fair in love or war," at least so some people say, but it is very doubtful if it is so. However the Manawatn Standard, published last night, makes the most ridiculous assertion that owing to the action of one of the election committees having rented a room near a public housi. the election of 'Mr .1. (1. Wilson will l>e invalid. Of course a reference to the Act will make the matter clear, and the electors may rest satish'ed that if they vote for Mr J. G. Wilson lit 1 will be their member. As tho rumour was spread about Palnursion yesterday afternoon, Mr Wilson's committee consulted a solicitor, who described the statement as all '• bunkum." We therefore ask Mr ,]. G. Wilson's friends to vote with every conn'devuv for him, and as he must head the poll, they will thus secure •<> LVjiresentative in whom they can safely pla <.•;•' th;- honour and care of their district I'or th' next three years.
