♦ Tine usual meeting of the Foxton Borough Council was held at the Library buildings on Monday evening. Present — The Mayor, Crs McMillan, Jenks, Williams and I Nye. The minutes of the last meeting i wero read confirmed. I CoKHESPOXDEXCE.--IxWAIUIS. j From Returning Officer notify- ■ ing the election of Thomas Wilson Ksq as Mayor. From Secretary of Rowing Club ! ccmplaining of a nuisance existing ' near the club's shed. From D. Goldie, Aneklaud, sta - ing that good wattle seed was obtainable in Auckland at 7s fid per lb. { 1 rom Auditor-General returning balance sheet for the half year certified correct. From residents in and near Duncan street, complaining of the state of the street. Outwards. To John Williams asking for 10s as a refund for Charitab'o \id suppiod to his mother and family. The following resolutions were agreed to : — That Mr Startup bo allowed to erect a sign opposito his shop under the usual conditions of the by-laws of this council. 'I hat permission be granted r Williams to erect a bridge over the Awahou stream connecting Joh nson street with Mrs Williams' property according to the by-laws. That the report of public meeting re water supply be received from the Mayor and additions and amendments be considered at the next meeting of this Council. That tenders be called for metalling Main-street from McMillan's old shop to Mrs Burr's corner, also 50 yards of metal for repairs to Avenue road, and 50 yards for repairs to Moutoa road. The work t) commence as soon as the gravel pit is dry. Also 10() yards will be required to repair the Foxton WiroIcino road. That Crs McMillian & T. P. Williams interview Cr Davis re license for coach to travel on road to Keroru. Just before tho meetiu^- broke up Cr McMil ! an proposed and Cr Nye soeondo.l.
