On the amendment being put only 40 voted for it and over 120 against it The meeting was a most successful one, Mr Wi'son speaking far better than usu >1 and scored well in his reply to the many questions asked We must tike this opportuuity of complimenting the Times on its very fn 1 report of the meeting. W* should say that Mr Wi son s position is almost assined after last Tuesday, however his supporters should not relax their efforts. This day week the nominations of all candidates mint have been delivered to the Beturuing Officer at Palmers ton.
