Prince of Wales' Birthday.

Monday will be kept as a holiday in commemoration of the birth of the Prince of Wales. Foxton will bo pretty lively, all sorts of dissipation having* been planned for that day. The Manawatu Rowing Club havo arranged a REGATTA in which six events are provided, all ot which should bo well contested. The pair oared race should go the single, for the snii es of the fair should he more exciting to them than to tho " old stagers/ The contest between the blacks and White's should be exciting and we would lay our money on the White. The fun commences at 11 a.m. and will finish when the last man lias rowed ov r th.* cour.-e which we understand is to ■ c in-istedion this time. CONCERT is arranged for, in which a number of our best lady singers tako part, as well ns s-ome new to the public. Messrs Sliortt and Cock provide the comic songs. Prices have been fixed to mi ct the depressed elate of the hemp market, fronts seals beitig only Is Cd and tho back seats Is. The world and ins wife must be there. The children attending the Primitive Methodist suiday School are to have their day out, and a capital PICNIC in Mr Flonore's paddock on tho Norbiton road will be held. We hope the day will tie fine, and tint our youngsters may thoroughly enjoy themselves.
