♦ MESSRS P. It. JACKSON AND COS JOHNSONVILLE REPORT. JOUNSONVILLE Oct. 15. Messrs F. R. Jackson and Co report : — Fat cattle were in usual numbers, the quality being good though the weights were light, and most of them young sorts . The bidding was brisk, prices advancing 2s the lOOlbs over the last market. There was only a small entry of sheep, for which competition was keen. A decided drop in the value of pigs took place, the sales effected being considerably under recent quotations. We quote : — Cattle. — Light to medium steers,. £~» 10s to £7. Sheep.— Shorn wethers, 11/0. Pigs. — Average baconers, .t'2 2/6 ; others £3 1/- ; porkers, 15/6 to 20/- ; stores, 10./---to 14/6 ; smaller, 6/6 to 8/6. Ox beef, 17/s the lOOlbs ; wether mutton, 2Jd per lb.
