CORRESPONDENCE.
* ! i We are not responsible for the statements or opinions of correspondents. I TO THE EDITOR OF THE MANAWATU HERALD. Sir,— ln reference to your remarks on the Hre at my house, I have to contradict a iew ot the statements. The whole of my furni ture was not saved and £20 would not cover my loss. You also state that the iiiv originated by throwing out ashes, such is not the case, as the tire first appeared haif way up the wall in the front of the house, between the weather boards and the insidi lining. I have also to tender my sincere thanks to Messrs Mangan and another who was there s on after the fire started, also Messrs MeMillau and Bradeock. — I am, &c, William Wakefield.
