Our lady readers have beon informed by an advertisement elsewhere that the firm of McMillan Rhodes &. Co have opeued up their new Spring and Summer goo'l<?. We sent to-day a representative to view tlie novelties for the benefit of those ladies who have not had time to pay this establishment a visit. We learn that the new stock is particularly liir.no and has been very j tasteful'y selected and it would be impossible, withm reasonable limits, to enumerate the various novo'ties. We, however, have had our atfcen - tion drawn to the new hats, which are all of the most reeherehe designs, and are in rush, chip, and straw. The dress sfcnffs comprise some hundred different designs, and are in dimity, mus'in, cambric, print, pongee, gingham, baige, veiliug, sateen, French foule, cashmere, merino lace c'oth, and suitings. Surely out of this variety it should not be hard to get suited. The prices have also been fixed wonderfully low for fresh goods and the commencement of the season. Ribbons, laces, oriental laces, Swiss embroidery, Torchan laces, and | Black Spanish laces are amongst the smaller c'ass of goods. The assoittnent of artificial flowers is numerous I and nvfl almost true to Nature. Trimmings in Moire si k of all shades can be secured, not to mention ■ buttons, and shades in long si k j glove?.
