, -JL. London. A number of British man-o-war'B men ashore at Lisbon were insulted by some of the residents, and compelled to re-embark on their vessel. The report adopted at the halfyearly meeting of the Bank of New Zealand has been confirmed. Seven hundred bales of New Zealand hemp have been soli at an irregular advance of price. Good Wellington is quoted at £21 10s ; fair quality, £20 10s. The price for frozen beef is improving ; other meat quotations are unchanged. The wool market is very firm.
