Th" minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence. The following correspondence was read : — Inwards : — From Wangaiiui Charitable Aid Board enclosing cheque for £7 16s 9d for Aid purposes. From J. Hillary declining to bring the punt down from Wirikiuo at the price mentioned. From Councillor Coe resigning his seat. From P. Hennessey respecting his tatf'i. From P. Vautier re impounding. Outwvhds: — To Mudie enclosing cheque for Library a/c. To Horowhenui County re sale of old punt. Mr Gib-ou said that Mr J. G. Wilson had written that there would be no chance of obtaining a Regis trar of electors at Foxton. The la est 'etter he had received stated that Postmasters would be Deputy Registrars. The Mayov reported that Mr Blake had agreed about the Library. Tb« report of a Commilfcoe was read. Tho Mayor suggested tin, the yardd at the Wirokino ferry wou'd
be improved by having a cap rail, and suggested that the ferryman be empowered to get it done. It was proposed by the Mayor and seconded by Cr Jonson. That three dozsu manuka rails be procured for cap rails round yard on north side of Wirikino ferry. The Council then went into Committee to consider Mr Nye'a report on Avenue bridge, and a letter from Mr Chapman. On the Council resuming the fol lowing rpso'utions were agreed to. 1 lint Mr E. Gray's < ffer for p ant ing 1000 trees at 18s per hundred be accepted in accordance with his letter dated September Ist 1890 and that two thirds of the amount be paid when the trees are planted and one third be paid in-one year from date if contract 'fully completed. That the Clerk inquire the price of a brick and concrete culvert of the City Council of Wellington. The following resolution was also passed : — That tenders be called far leasing Bormigh Beserves Nos. 44 and 488 for one year. Tenders to be sent in by next mcct 1 ing of thi*» Council. The following accounts were passed for payment. C Spring, — carting £2 14s Id ; J. Sullivan. £7 10s ; T. P. Gibson, £5 ; Leary & Co., safe £20 Mamwntu County — Interest on loan, £9 3s 6d • W.
