The New Zealand's Teaching Staff.
'The Education Department have just issued a list of teach«rs in accordance with the 27th Sectiou of the regu'ations respecting t-achera certificutss tuade by an Order in Council on the sth July 1887. The Ttotal number of teachers holding certificates i« 2,672 of tlieso 1373 are gentlemen teachers and 1294 ladies teachers. Besides the c are 53p«r«on8 holding licenses to teach and eight holding- District henses.. The scholastic itatui of our teachers ia indicated by the fact that 6 lady's ieaxheri and 64 gentlemen teachers bold the degree of M.A whilst 9 la4j teachers and 77 gentlemen tetcherehold the degree of B.A one gentleman teacker, besides holdiug th« degree of B.A also Uo!d3 the def?r«« of B.Sc, One gentleman teacher holds the degree of Ph D.
