Manawatu Rowing Club.
«. The Manawatu Bowing Club got off three veay interesting Boat Races on Tuesday afternoon. Each event was well contested.
The first item on the programme was a Sculling Race between the Captain of the Club and the Secretary. There was very little to choose between* the two »ouller» as it was a neok-and-neck race from start to nnish. The result was— Curtis (Rata) . . 1 | Hunter (Nikau) . • 2 The next event was a Sculling Raoa between Messrs Howard ftfld UcFluin. The j t)a<l course steered by both competitors rather spoiled what would otherwise have been an interesting raoe. It resulted as follows : McPhun (Ra-ta) . . 1 Howard (Nikau) . . 2 This last race was a pair-oared one between Messrs Hunter and McPhun against Messrs Howard and Enderby. This wa* a most stubbonly contested event, and resulted in a dead heat between the two. We understand the Secretary is endeavouring to get off some Rob Roy Canoe Races for next Tuesday.
