Social Gathering.

i • Last night witnessed the first of a series of social gatherings it is intended to hold at the Public Hall. Our reporter was unfortunately unable to be present, but we are pleased to learn that the efforts put forth met with well-deserved success. The receipts at the door must, have been satisfactory, judging by the number present. Three • harades were presented for the audience to define, but owing to the abrence of coloured lights the effect was not so good in the tableaux an was expected. Songs were sung by the ladies and children, and by Mr Young. The waits between the songs and charades were however too long, and this inuat be avoided at the next performance.
