Storage Charges on Flax.
Mr Cock moved at the Harbour Board meeting yesterday (Thursday) that one night's free storage should be given to flax received into store. He explained that his object was to given opportinity for flax being examined without incurring additional cost for storage, which was almost inevitable at present. Looking at the importance of the flax industry and the heavy charges which it had t« mr i ot,ke thought this was a concession that might well be made MrHeaton, in seconding the motion 1 said he learned that at present the Board's charges on flax came to £1 per ton. The motion was then put and carried, and a bylaw giving effect to it w<is read, and will come up f or approval ut the next meeting of tin Boa d.— N. Z. Tin.es.
