Substitute for Tobacco.
» A new substitute for tobacco is being introduced. It is a mixture of British herbs— the particular plants are kept secret — and smokers who tried the compound declare it to be deliciously fragrant, slightly exilirating, and withal soothing to the nerves. Combined Avith ordinary tobacco it is said to make a blend as satisfactory as that of chicory or coffee. At present it is prepared in Scotland, under the name of "herb tobaoco, " and it has rapidly grown in favour with all classes in tho north. .
