Borough Council.
A special me u (ing of t'ne Council was held at tln> Library building on Friday evening at 7.80 p.m. Present — The Mayor, and Crs Jenks, Coe, Jonson, Furrie, T. P. Williams and J. E. McMillan. The Mayor explained that the meeting had been called to consider the complaints made as to the man* agement of the Wirokino ferry. Messrs Thomns Lind, and Alfred Bradcock gave -evidence of the stranding of the punt, on a day it wa9 required for crossing the coach. Mr Thomas Bowe, the lessee gave his explanation of the occurrence. After discussion, the Council agreed to the f flowing resolution : — "That this Council is of opinion that the sinking and the stranding of the punt are boih results of neglect on the part of the ferryman,
