FOXTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The usual monthly meeting of the above Council w»s held at the library buildings on Monday the 3rd February 1890 at 7 o'clock p.m. Present — His Worship the Mayor and Counci l^r* McMMan, Jonson, Coe, JenV 8 and Furrie. The nimntes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Th« following inward correspon dence was read : — From J. G. Wilson re making inquiries whether the B rough can be joined to Wellington Hospital J G. Wilsonatiting same to be impos sible and offering to act as reprosen tative on the charifr«b'e aid board J N KepJingTown Clerk, Palmerston N. asking for the appoiiatmfn* of a delegate to choose hospital site. The Mayor moved the following resolution, which being seconded by CrJenks, was uaniously carried - That Mr J. Gould as a solicito • for Bra^cock and Gay asking for paym«n h ttr damages received at the Wi okioo ferry, amounting to £18 3g 6d. The Mayor proposed and Cr Joinson /.seconded — ThatCr9McMil!«n, Fi«r i=> and-T^nks be a committee to aee Messrs Gay and Bradcock and arrange the charges for damages to cotch and harness at Wirolcino ferry. From G. Nye explaining roaßon for delay in delivering timber for new punt. The f llowing reso'utioaa were pa"spd. That tenders be called for carting for the Horough for twelve months from date. . That immediato action be ta^en | to have a pub'ic vaccin -to' appointerl for this town and that Dr Foot be recommended for the appointment The Council went into committee to consi ler the by t,v relating to i carts. Tn committee, on considering the question of obtaining water, the Coanoillo s all expr 83ed their desire to secure watfr ani Cr McMillan pvoroi 'd and w- ich was seconded by Cr J-nka — " That on account of the scarcity of watev in Foxton the Mayor requested to correspond with pome suitable person for the pnr po-e of obtaining water by boring artesinn wells. Carried unanimously. On Council resuming the same resnluti n wa-> put and carried.
