The N. Z. Shipping Company has courteously. forWarded us a clearly tabulated statement of. the cargoes of ships* j%»vitt£f New Zealand between fche^lst Jiily 1888 to 30th June 1889 There. is very dttle question that this Company has had the largeab share o£ the trade. Apart however from the Company's view, i the total export of the chief productions of the colony, prove that there is avast amount of wealth within the colony. The steamers are represented by a tonnage Of 98,095 tons, and -sailing vessels, 115,975 tons.' These vessels took 2,055,801 carcases of mii^bn weighing 60,923,0b81b5, and 43,526 quarters of beef, weighing 7,512,5901b5. They also took 277,423 bales of wool aud skins, and: 42, 118 ' bales of flax. There were 479,115 sacks of wheat and 23,182 caßk3,bf tallow, aud 14*859 tons of other cargo. •
