LONDON. Men who do not belong to Unions are. totally without means, and frightfnl privation has been oaused by this labour crisis. The payments from the strike funds average £1000 per day. There are 100,000 married men on strike, and their allowance is limited to eighteen pennyworth of food daily for each family. The piokets get 2a per day. The dock owners hare held a conference, at which it was agreed to everything exoept the demand for 6d on hour. The dockmen refused to accept 'the compromise, 1 and Mr fturriß is negotiating for a settle* ment. The wharfingers will unload on to the wharves from midstream and boycott the docks. The Thames wharfingers have accepted the strikers' terms, and it is expected that many of the men will resume work to-day. The strikers have permitted the Pif eshire and the Kaikoura to unload their mutton, and the market is consequently abundantly stocked for the time being, and business is flat% Prices are the same as last week.
