'• James Anderson was charged on ' the information of the Constable that be did use on the sth June Obscene language in a public place to • wit a public street in Foxton contrary to section 24, subsection 2 of the Police Offences Act 1884. V : The prisoner pleaded not gui'ty, but the constable swore to the lan< guage used, and the prisoner wag sentenced to 48 hours imprisonment with hard labor. William Parker and Wil iam Montague were charged by the Con- > stable in unlawfully obstructing him in his duty on sth Jane. ! Both prisoners pleaded not guilty. The Constable swore to the offence and the prisoners being unable to deny the. charge, as they pleaded forgetfulness, they were fined 20s each with 7s costs or seven days im- j prisonment with hard labour. ■ ■
