■» From a summiry of ugrculuiru! statistics for the counties of Bangitikei, Manawatu, Oroua, and Horowhentia supplied to uh by Mr D.ighton, comparing the returns of this and last year* principal crops and land under grass, we tind the following results :— The number of holdings this year is 1,834. being mi increase of 246. The number o<"*ertß in wheat this year wa* 5,704. a decrease of 339, the yield being the SHrae? as lart year, namely, a trifle over 23 bu*tu-l« to the acre. There were 354 acres of barley, giving 41 bushels to the acre, showing ;»n increaw of 119 in ue tage, and 15^ bushels- in yield.
