SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
The mk was hardly drjr after writing the 1 paragraph wnich appears elsewhere* ot the folly of; attempting to canyon the duti&i at the Wharf and Bailway Station with one hand, when unfortunately the statements have been verified. This afternoon the railwayJftprter Buchan was * getting qpcerial together to load a truck and to do so had to shift a heavy fly wheel of an engine. He upended the wheel and! was rolling it along the wharf all smoothly until he came to the point where the sheathing between the rails end, when the wheel canted and fell over against him. The blow can be imagined when it is stated that the wheel weighed 7£ cwt, and it caught the unfortunate man's legs and hand on the iron rail. The legs are badly cut about but not broken, but the right thumb is split in half? Buchan cannot say how long lie layed, though he cried out whem he fell. There was no one by him at the time. He has gone under DrFoot : 's charge. Will this be any further warning ?
