OTAKI ACCIDENT.

»- An inquest was held in Wellington last Friday on the two men, Te Wiata, and William Maxwe l Muir who died from the injuries they received at the display of fireworks at Otaki. The jury, after considering for about half-an-hour, brought in a verdict of " Accidental death," with the following rider; "The Jury would take [illegible] opportunity of sug gesting, as a rider, that taking into c nsideration the number o accidents occur ing from similar causes, the attention of the authorities should be called to the advis bility of prohibiting any disp ay of fireworks without obtaining a permit from an R.M. or Justice of the Peace, who should hold the person obtaining such permit responsible for the proper discharge of such fireworks."
