TnE OLD CEMETERY.
TO the editor op the Sianawatp herald. Sir, — I think it is time attention was dra'vn to the disgraceful state of things in connection with the old grave yard. Horses belonging to the school boyß have free ingress from the school paddock into the old grave yard, and consequently they trample all over the old graves, and break down the ornameutal trees which were procured and planted by subscriptions from the public The fence (if it may be called one) has two panels of it completely broken down, and the grave yard is quite open to the Main street, so that wandering horses and cattle can go in and out as they please. I trust that the authorities, who ever they are, will see to it. lam, &c, Observer. [We believe the duty of looking after the old Cemetery is " nobody's business." For decency sake, however, the Local Board should take steps to abate the nuisance complained of.— Ed. M. H.]
