The Irish Land Bill was again before the House of Commons today, when further amendments by the House of Lords were rejected. It is expected that the Lords will be obstinate in insisting upon their amendments. August 11. In the House of Lords today, the Right Hon. the Earl of Kimberley stated, in reply to a question, that the British Government lias decided not to sever any portion of the Transvaal occupied by Boers from the territory which had been assigned to the South' African Republic by the Transvaal Convention. Telegrams are to hand from Afghanistan reporting: that , Ayoub Khan, although Btrougly supported by his adherents, is hampered by the want of arms, and that bis adtanro© is delayed for this reason.
