In the House of Commons today the motion authorising the erection of a monument to the late Earl of Heaconsfield in Westminister a bbey was, after some debate, carried on a, division by a majority of 32G. A j similar motion was agreed to iv the House of Lords without a division. Telegrams have been received from Sofia announcing that Prince Alexander, of Bulgaria, threatens to resign unless the National Assembly makes radical changes in the system of government of the country. Paris, May 9. Intelligence is to hand from Tunis that the French troops have been successful in their operations against the tribe of Kroumirs, and have now occupied the latter's stronghold. Constantinople, May 9. It has transpired that the French Government has notified to the Porte that the despatch of Turkish troops to Tunis will be deemed a casus belli. Melbourne, May 10. Extensive preparations aie being made for the reception and entertainment of the Royal Princes on the arrival here of the detached squadron. Several grand balls will be given, including one by the Mayor in the Exhibition Building. Adelaide, May 10. Mrs Newton, a passenger for Auckland by the Orient steamship Potosi, which arrived on Sunday from England, has met with an' accident on board that vessel, resulting in her death.
