FOXTON HIGHWAYS BOARD.

' * Monday, May 9, 1881. The Board met at 7 p.m. PresentMessrs Thynne (Chairman), Gower, Easton, andCobb. The minutes were read and confirmed. Letters were re&d from the Manawatu and Rangitikei County Councils, re State aid to local bodies. A rate of 6d in the £ was struck, the rate to be payable on aud after May 10, and to be for the year ending 31st March, 1882. Resolved—" That Mr Hankins be authorised to proceed against the Manawatu Board for the moneys owing this Board, with the least possible delay." Resolved-rr"That the Warden of No. 4 Ward be authorised to spend £5 on No. 1 Line,'* - r Resolved—" That the Warden of No. 2 Ward be authorised to cut a drain 4 chains long at a cost not exceeding 7s per chain, and repair the bridge at Elkins' corner at a cost not to exceed £1 10s. The following accounts were passed :— G-. Wemng, je9l6s; Jas. Carter, Jt'2B 7s 3d; W. Reeve, £50 ; O. Flanagan, £9.
