In an address to the Indian Growers* 1 Association, Mr B. F. Magee hel4 the fpjjowing :— •• There is one thing about pasturing sheep that has been overlooked, viz., the damage done to the grass, by being run over by the flock. .While I believe one acre of good grans will keep five, or may. be eight, sheep well, I do not believe lOOaores would keep 600 sheep. Five sheep would probably do but little damage "to" one acre, even though they trere confined to it,' tney3&nld mafee bW; fe# tracTre over it in a day, and would easily find fresh gVass r -eVe >< -y But suppose we sut 500 sheep in a, 100 aore^bHif c fivo /'s^eep^ottltf confine themselveS'te^tEeir own par* tioular aore, they wsutd do well in sunfnfl»S JJutlheywiUfeotdo thii; and here is wherei .theory and practice part company. ~.our five sheep start dttf io graze, and the 495 go along with them. Now, a -sheep is a dainty creature, , and likes clean food.
