fl _ The Waste Land Board met at Wel« . lingtoa on T mrsday, when the chairman read a copy of a letter from 51 inhabitants >f Otaki, requesting that an area of about 5000 acre 3 out of the Kukutauaki Block mii^ht be Bet aside for selection on defeVed payment. It was resolved that the* Chief Surveyor be requested to prepare a map of * the land referred to, indicating the position of the native road and its connection with the road passing through Otaki;' also to submit a scheme of sections, accompanied <>y a report on the general character of the soil and timber. The date for throwing open the unsold sections in the - in the Kairanga and Pahiatua districts was altered from the 18th April (Easter Monday) to the 19th of that month. The schedule of land sold since last meeting ■v.is presented, an'l showel that 1026 acres h.i.-l been applied for at the upset price of £1028 10* 61, and that £520 14 7d had been paid on account. — Evening Post.
